About The Position
East York Veterinary Center is a full-service small animal hospital providing high-quality medical and surgical care for cats and dogs throughout the York community. Requirements
- Previous veterinary technician experience required
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for patient care and continuous learning
Nice To Haves
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician preferred but not required
- Strong technical and clinical skills including patient care and anesthesia monitoring preferred
- Fear Free or low stress handling experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with patient exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Prepare patients for surgery and monitor anesthesia and vital signs during procedures
- Provide attentive nursing care for hospitalized patients including monitoring, medication administration, and treatments
- Place IV catheters, perform venipuncture, and support fluid therapy
- Operate diagnostic equipment including digital radiography and in-house laboratory analyzers
- Support dental procedures including anesthesia monitoring and dental radiography
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners
