About The Position

Calusa Veterinary Center is hiring a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients. The role supports veterinarians with patient care and procedures while helping ensure the hospital remains safe, clean, and prepared to deliver high-quality veterinary care.

Calusa Veterinary Center is a full-service, AAHA-accredited, 24-hour general practice and emergency small-animal hospital serving the Boca Raton, Florida area. The 10,000-square-foot facility has 10 doctors and a large staff. Its equipment and services include digital radiography, digital dental radiography, in-house laboratories, CO2 laser, endoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, cold laser therapy, an underwater treadmill, ultrasound, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, acupuncture, rehabilitation, and pain management. Requirements

• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
• Certified Veterinary Technician.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and patient status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with dispensing medications.
• Keep examination rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
