About The Position

Metropolitan Veterinary Urgent Care and Specialty (MVUCS) is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join their team. This role blends general practice with urgent care, providing pets and their families with outstanding, compassionate service when they need it most. Located in Wayne, PA, MVUCS is a recently opened, state-of-the-art facility that is part of the Metropolitan Veterinary Associates (MVA) network. Requirements

Experience in a veterinary setting (general practice, urgent care, or emergency preferred)
Strong clinical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and basic diagnostics
Excellent communication abilities, with a commitment to empathetic client service
A calm, organized demeanor, essential for navigating a busy urgent care environment
A team-focused attitude, welcoming collaboration with colleagues of all skill levels and specialties
Attention to detail and a willingness to learn and adapt to new protocols and procedures

Responsibilities

Triage and assess patients presenting with urgent needs, working closely with veterinarians to prioritize treatments.
Provide hands-on nursing care, including administering medications, placing IV catheters, and monitoring patient vitals.
Perform diagnostics such as blood draws, in-house lab tests, and basic imaging to aid in quick, accurate treatment decisions.
Communicate clearly with pet owners, updating them on their pet’s condition, next steps, and home-care instructions.
Maintain a well-stocked, organized work area, ensuring essential supplies and equipment are readily available.
Collaborate with the entire veterinary team, contributing ideas to enhance efficiency, patient comfort, and client satisfaction.
