About The Position
Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (VESH) in South Deerfield, MA is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our growing Urgent Care team. This Veterinary Technician opportunity is ideal for a Vet Tech who enjoys fast-paced medicine, hands-on patient care, client communication, and continuing to build advanced clinical skills. Join a collaborative emergency and specialty animal hospital where you’ll work alongside our Urgent Care doctor while providing high-quality medicine and making an impact on patients, clients, and your team every shift.
Requirements
- Veterinary Technician experience required
- Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, and laboratory sample processing
- Comfortable in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Positive attitude with a collaborative, team-first mindset
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and adapt throughout a dynamic shift
- Desire to continue learning and growing clinically
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
Nice To Haves
- CVT, LVT, or RVT preferred, but not required
- Urgent care, emergency, or specialty experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Collecting blood and laboratory samples
- IV catheter placement and venipuncture
- Running in-house laboratory diagnostics
- Performing radiographs and assisting with imaging
- Preparing and dispensing medications
- Monitoring patients during treatment and recovery
- Triaging urgent care patients upon arrival
- Obtaining patient histories and documenting medical records
- Reviewing treatment plans and estimates with clients
- Providing discharge instructions and client education
- Supporting veterinarians with diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area
- Collaborating with emergency and specialty teams to deliver exceptional patient care
