About The Position

PEAK Veterinary Referral Center is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Urgent Care team in Williston, Vermont. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced veterinary team, providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. PEAK is a 14,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art specialty and emergency veterinary hospital providing 24/7 care to pets throughout the region. Our specialty services include: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Radiology, Behavior. We proudly serve pet owners and referring veterinarians throughout Vermont, northern New York, and New Hampshire. In 2021, we expanded our services with a seven-day-a-week Urgent Care department to help bridge the gap between primary care and emergency medicine. Requirements

  • Veterinary Technician experience in general practice, urgent care, emergency, or specialty medicine preferred
  • CVT, RVT, or LVT credentials are welcomed but not required
  • Strong patient care, technical, and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced veterinary environment
  • Team-oriented with a positive and collaborative attitude
  • Passion for learning and professional growth
  • Comfortable working with urgent and critical cases
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required

Responsibilities

  • Triage urgent care patients and perform initial assessments, including medical history collection and vital signs
  • Communicate findings effectively with veterinarians to support case management
  • Assist in developing treatment plans and reviewing recommendations with clients
  • Perform diagnostic procedures including cytology, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, cystocentesis, urinary catheterization, laboratory testing, and radiography
  • Monitor patients during sedation and assist with procedures including wound care, laceration repair support, porcupine quill removal, and urinary obstruction management
  • Administer medications and outpatient treatments, including subcutaneous fluids
  • Review discharge instructions and medications with clients to ensure continuity of care
  • Provide compassionate client support during euthanasia appointments
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout treatment areas, kennels, and hospital spaces
  • Support a positive, collaborative team environment focused on exceptional patient care
