Veterinary Technician, Surgery
About The Position
Charleston Veterinary Referral Center is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to join their outstanding Surgery team. This role involves using technical skills in advanced and specialized ways, supporting a wide variety of complex procedures performed by board-certified surgeons, continuously learning in a dynamic specialty environment, and developing strong critical thinking skills in high-acuity cases. The center is a 24-hour emergency referral center located in Charleston, SC, and is the only VECCS Level 1 certified facility in South Carolina. The facility is state-of-the-art and offers specialty services including cardiology, internal medicine, neurology & neurosurgery, medical oncology, rehabilitation, and soft tissue & orthopedic surgery. Diagnostic imaging capabilities include MRT, CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and digital radiographs. The center is now operating under the name Ethos Veterinary Health, which is an industry-leading community of multiple veterinary health organizations.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of veterinary technician experience, preferably in specialty or emergency medicine
- Strong understanding of basic veterinary medicine and surgical protocols
- Knowledge of common surgical instruments and their uses
- Availability to participate in an anesthesia on-call rotation for nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills with clients and team members
- Ability to stay calm and react quickly during life-threatening circumstances
Nice To Haves
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred but not required
Responsibilities
