About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Augusta, GA is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our thriving Surgery Team! This position offers up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus based on experience As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you will: Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values. Utilize your ability to place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein. Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort. Understand normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal. Set up intravenous fluids. Administer subcutaneous fluids. Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors. Disconnect and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically. Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload. Perform additional relevant job responsibilities. Why BluePearl?
