About The Position
Boston West Veterinary Emergency & Specialty in Natick, MA is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Technician looking to expand advanced anesthesia, surgical, and patient care skills while working alongside multiple board-certified surgeons in a collaborative specialty hospital. Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience in a clinical setting
- Strong anesthesia monitoring skills required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced specialty hospital environment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative team mindset
- Commitment to patient safety, client service, and high-quality veterinary medicine
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
Nice To Haves
- CVT, LVT, or RVT preferred, but not required
- Experience with radiographic technique preferred
- Surgical nursing experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Support patients through all stages of the surgical visit, from admission through recovery
- Assist with patient assessments, diagnostics, and treatments
- Perform and monitor anesthesia and sedation for a variety of procedures
- Prepare and assist during advanced soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, including scrubbing in
- Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery to ensure comfort and safety
- Provide exceptional client communication and patient advocacy throughout hospitalization
- Assist with advanced diagnostic imaging, including CT and C-arm imaging
- Maintain accurate medical records and uphold high standards of patient care and safety
