About The Position

Mount Laurel Animal Hospital is currently seeking a passionate and driven Veterinary Technician to join our Specialty Surgery team in an advanced anesthesia-focused role. In this collaborative, fast-paced environment, you will work alongside board-certified surgeons and highly skilled technicians to deliver exceptional surgical and anesthetic care to a diverse patient population. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1+ year working with a boarded veterinary surgeon or 3+ years of surgery/anesthesia experience in general practice
  • Strong interest in advanced anesthesia and surgical nursing
  • Proficiency in technical skills including anesthesia monitoring and surgical support
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and assist for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and restrain animals up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working in a surgical environment with exposure to noise, odors, and biohazards

Nice To Haves

  • CVT, RVT, or LVT preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partner with board-certified surgeons in patient assessment, diagnostics, and surgical procedures
  • Develop and administer anesthetic protocols with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Monitor anesthesia using advanced equipment including ventilators and multi-parameter monitors
  • Perform intubation, extubation, and ongoing airway management
  • Assist in a variety of procedures including soft tissue, orthopedic, laparoscopic, and arthroscopic surgeries
  • Scrub into surgical procedures and provide direct intraoperative support
  • Take and interpret diagnostic radiographs as needed throughout the surgical process
  • Prepare and process diagnostic samples
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including anesthetic logs
  • Ensure proper maintenance and readiness of surgical equipment
  • Mentor and support fellow technicians, contributing to a culture of learning and collaboration
