About The Position

Pieper Veterinary is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our growing Primary Care team in Essex, CT. In this role, you will play an essential part in providing comprehensive, high-quality care to pets at every stage of their health journey while supporting both our patients and their families with expertise, compassion, and dedication. Our vision is simple: to make the community�and the animals and people in it�happier and healthier. This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:30 am to 6 pm, with rotating Saturdays from 7:30 am to 2 pm. The compensation is $21.00 - $30.00 an hour depending on experience.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year or more of experience in a busy hospital, focusing on nursing care.
  • Phlebotomy.
  • Anesthesia.
  • Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of sterilization techniques to provide care for patients requiring this.
  • Knowledge of the instruments, materials, and standardized procedures used in the full variety of treatments to prepare and provide "tableside" assistance.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services, including client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
  • Must be 18 years or older to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CPR.
  • Experience with EzyVet.
  • Associates degree in Veterinary Technology is a plus.
  • CVT license is a plus.
