About The Position

Veterinary Emergency & Referral Group (VERG) – Brooklyn is expanding its Inventory services and seeking a qualified Overnight Veterinary Technician to join their team. VERG Brooklyn is a leader in 24/7 advanced emergency and specialty veterinary care, committed to delivering state-of-the-art medicine across multiple specialties in a diverse, team-oriented environment. The role involves collaborating with board-certified specialists and peers to treat pets with expertise and respect, fostering professional growth and making a significant impact. This role is for licensed veterinary technicians who are the heart of VERG and play a vital role in delivering life-saving care alongside the Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) team. They support board-certified Criticalists, emergency clinicians, and specialists across all departments. The position is ideal for top-tier technicians who thrive under pressure and want to make a real impact.

Requirements

  • Licensed or Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT)
  • Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience, preferably with ECC or emergency experience in a specialty setting
  • Detail-oriented

  • Strong clinical & communication skills
  • Experience in intensive monitoring
  • Experience in emergency triage
  • Experience with ventilator support
  • Experience with post-op recovery of critical patients
  • Experience placing advanced lines (e.g., central venous catheters, arterial lines for invasive blood pressure, and CVPs)
  • Ability to adapt to evolving patient needs

Responsibilities

  • Support complex and urgent cases in Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Radiology, and Neurology.
  • Stabilize critical patients.
  • Perform advanced monitoring.
  • Support intensive care treatment plans.
  • Ensure seamless patient care.
  • Collaborate with multiple services.
  • Educate intern doctors and peers on ECC protocols and best practices.
