Alpharetta Veterinary Specialty + Emergency in Alpharetta is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our outstanding Internal Medicine team! Available Sign-On Bonus Structures up to $1500 for LVTs and $750 for Experienced Assistant Candidates! Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a general practice setting required
  • Strong foundational skills in patient care, restraint, and basic procedures, with an interest in Internal Medicine and advanced case management
  • Active veterinary technician license required for LVTs, with strong technical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, and medication administration. Experience with diagnostics and complex case management preferred
  • Ability to work around anesthetic gases, chemicals, and zoonotic diseases. Comfortable working with animals, including those who are sick or stressed. Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
  • Flexibility to support occasional schedule adjustments

Responsibilities

  • Assist Internists with advanced diagnostic procedures and patient care
  • Provide nursing care for complex and chronic Internal Medicine cases
  • Obtain patient histories, take vital signs, and collect samples
  • Assist with imaging and diagnostics (ultrasound, lab work, etc.)
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
  • Perform proper patient restraint and handling
  • Support patient flow and ensure a high standard of care
