About The Position
Since 2014, Alpha Veterinary Services has proudly served the Uniontown community by providing compassionate, high-quality care to both companion animals and large animals. As a growing mixed-animal practice, we're looking for an Experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant who is passionate about patient care, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and wants to continue growing their skills. Whether you're a Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT) or an experienced Veterinary Assistant with strong clinical skills, we'd love to meet you.
Requirements
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT) or an experienced Veterinary Assistant with at least 1–2 years of clinical experience
- Strong technical and patient care skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Dependable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Willingness to work rotating Saturday shifts
Nice To Haves
- Experience with anesthesia, dentistry, or surgery is a plus but not required
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during appointments, diagnostics, and treatments
- Prepare patients for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Monitor anesthesia (based on experience and credentials)
- Collect laboratory samples and perform diagnostic testing
- Place IV catheters, administer medications and vaccines, and perform venipuncture
- Take and develop digital radiographs
- Provide nursing care for hospitalized patients
- Educate clients on medications, preventive care, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment notes
- Help create a positive, efficient workflow while supporting your teammates
