About The Position

Veterinary Specialty Hospital (VSH) is looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our Medical Oncology team. As a Veterinary Technician in our Medical Oncology department you will be responsible for overseeing appointments and managing clients throughout their visit. You will participate with DVM's in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures. You will obtain and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates. You will utilize different modalities of imaging for patient and procedural assessment. You will execute, monitor, and recover all assigned sedation and anesthetic events. You will provide empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients being a strong patient advocate during the patient's hospitalization. You will maintain all equipment on a per-use basis ensuring the safety and best practice care of all patients. Knowledge, along with preparation and administration of various chemotherapeutic agents is preferred. (Additional on-site training will be provided). You will provide extensive client communication and education on various oncology disease processes. The schedule is 10 hour days (Days TBD), part time or full time.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working (Veterinary Technicians) in a progressive veterinary hospital setting required.
  • RVT or VTS
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.
  • Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge, along with preparation and administration of various chemotherapeutic agents is preferred. (Additional on-site training will be provided)

Responsibilities
