About The Position

Come join the VCA California Veterinary Service - Carlsbad team! We are looking for a Full-Time Medical Oncology Registered Veterinary Technician. Compensation: $28-$34 ALL dependent on education, experience, credentials, location, nature of practice, schedule, and additional responsibilities. Schedule: Full-Time, 4 X 10 alternative work week. As a member of the VCA team, you will support Technician and Doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Requirements

• Credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT)
• Strong multi-tasking skills
• Effective verbal, listening, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members of all hospital services

Responsibilities

• Physical examinations, patient assessment, and collecting patient histories
• Processing laboratory samples in-house
• Preparing laboratory samples for outside labs
• Managing medical records, reports, and correspondence
• Assist with Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology, Ultrasound, CT Scans)
• Assist with patient recovery
• Pharmacy
• Venipuncture/catheter placement
• Knowledge and experience with chemotherapy drugs and safety protocols
• Safe animal restraint and handling
