The Veterinary Technician Lead (RVT) – Emergency & Specialty role at Maritime Veterinary Emergency + Specialty Centre offers an opportunity to advance your career by shaping the future of veterinary medicine. The role requires weekday availability, participation in a rotating weekend schedule, and flexibility for evening hours. As a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in a leadership position, you will guide, support, and elevate your team while delivering exceptional patient care. You will mentor and coach Veterinary Technicians, provide hands-on care in a fast-paced environment, partner with hospital leadership to improve workflows and patient outcomes, support team members during complex cases, help build a positive hospital culture, and contribute to training and development initiatives. The hospital is a brand-new, 24,000 sq. ft. facility in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, offering 24/7 emergency services, advanced diagnostics, surgical capabilities, and specialty services. Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with strong clinical skills
  • A positive attitude, a motivating presence, and a strong commitment to supporting a healthy, collaborative team culture are required
  • Passion for patient care, team development, and continuous learning
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to stay calm, focused, and supportive in fast-paced environments
