Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine
About The Position
BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department. This role involves acting as a liaison between internists and clients, managing patient histories, care instructions, lab results, and patient updates. The position also includes assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking X-rays, and obtaining lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills are required. The hospital offers mentorship and training from experienced technicians.

Responsibilities
- Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
- Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
- Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
- Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
- Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
- Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
- Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
- Additional job duties as assigned.
