About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Brentwood, TN is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department. This role involves being a liaison between internists and clients, handling patient histories, care instructions, lab results, and patient updates. Client interaction will occur through phone calls, email, and in-person conversations. The technician will also assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, fill prescriptions, take X-rays, and obtain lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills are required.

Responsibilities

Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
Calculate all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
Additional job duties as assigned.
