Requirements

  • 3-5 years Veterinary Technician experience.
  • Knowledge with Anesthesia and monitoring.
  • Phlebotomy knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the procedures used for scheduling patients, receiving, treating, ordering medical supplies, and requesting laboratory tests.
  • Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of sterilization techniques to sterilize various instruments and materials.
  • Knowledge of the instruments, materials, and standardized procedures used in the full variety of treatments to prepare and provide “tableside” assistance.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services. This includes client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of client satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
  • Must be 18 years or older to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates in Veterinary Technology is a plus.
  • CVT license is a plus.
  • Experience with CPR, EzyVet, and SmartFlow is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with experienced veterinarians to provide exceptional care and support for pets with complex medical needs.
  • Provide assistance with advanced Internal Medicine procedures, including endoscopy and anesthesia.
  • Perform anesthetic monitoring.
  • Administer a variety of drugs and follow medical protocols.
  • Assist with CPR.
  • Manage patient scheduling, receiving, and treatment.
  • Order medical supplies and request laboratory tests.
  • Use, care for, and store veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
  • Perform sterilization techniques for instruments and materials.
  • Provide "tableside" assistance with instruments, materials, and procedures for treatments.
  • Provide client and personal services, including needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluating client satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively using the English language, including understanding and spelling of words, composition, and grammar.
