About The Position
Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn, MA is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to support our Inpatient Care Service. This opportunity is ideal for Vet Techs looking for part-time or full-time hours while caring for hospitalized and critical patients in a specialty animal hospital. Join a collaborative team where you’ll work hands-on with a diverse caseload including ICU, post-operative, internal medicine, oncology, urgent care, and specialty patients while practicing advanced veterinary medicine.
Requirements
- 3+ years of veterinary technician experience preferred; ICU, Emergency, or Critical Care experience strongly preferred
- CVT, RVT, or LVT preferred
- Strong technical nursing skills with confidence managing hospitalized and critical patients
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency and specialty environment
- Excellent communication skills with both clients and team members
- Positive, collaborative attitude with a commitment to patient care and hospital culture
- Desire to continue learning, growing clinical skills, and contributing to a supportive team environment
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to hospitalized and critical care patients across ICU, Emergency, and Specialty services
- Monitor patient vitals, treatments, and overall condition, reporting changes promptly to attending clinicians
- Assist with advanced diagnostics, sample collection, medication administration, and dosage calculations
- Support care for postoperative surgical patients, internal medicine cases, oncology patients, urgent care cases, and specialty referrals
- Triage critical patients and assist with stabilization and ongoing monitoring
- Provide compassionate client communication, including patient updates, education, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate closely with Emergency clinicians, specialists, and fellow technicians to deliver exceptional patient care
- Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to efficient daily hospital workflow
