About The Position

Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital is hiring an experienced ICU Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency & Critical Care team in Woburn, Massachusetts. This is an opportunity to work hands-on with a diverse hospitalized caseload including ICU, post-operative, internal medicine, oncology, urgent care, and specialty patients while practicing advanced medicine in one of the region’s leading specialty and emergency hospitals.

Requirements

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience preferred; ICU, Emergency, or Critical Care experience strongly preferred
• CVT, RVT, or LVT preferred
• Strong technical nursing skills with confidence managing hospitalized and critical patients
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency and specialty environment
• Excellent communication skills with both clients and team members
• Positive, collaborative attitude with a commitment to patient care and hospital culture
• Desire to continue learning, growing clinical skills, and contributing to a supportive team environment
• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to hospitalized and critical care patients across ICU, Emergency, and Specialty services
• Monitor patient vitals, treatments, and overall condition, reporting changes promptly to attending clinicians
• Assist with advanced diagnostics, sample collection, medication administration, and dosage calculations
• Support care for postoperative surgical patients, internal medicine cases, oncology patients, urgent care cases, and specialty referrals
• Triage critical patients and assist with stabilization and ongoing monitoring
• Provide compassionate client communication, including patient updates, education, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate closely with Emergency clinicians, specialists, and fellow technicians to deliver exceptional patient care
• Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to efficient daily hospital workflow
