About The Position

Under general supervision, provides veterinary care for animals used in a research setting. May perform veterinary care, animal husbandry, and basic technical skills. Provides assistance to Veterinarians and investigative staff in their treatment of animals used in teaching, training, or research functions. Position operates within standard guidelines and alternatives that are known, and any deviation from such requires prior approval. Staff will work a rotating on-call schedule and holidays.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a veterinary technology program accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) or the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA)
  • Registered, licensed, or certified as a veterinary technician within one year of the start date.
  • Possession of a valid state or commercial driver's license, and the ability to meet University Fleet Safety Standards.
  • Self-disclose any conviction history.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Pass credential/education verification.
  • Pass verification of a valid state or commercial driver's license.
  • Ability to meet University Fleet Safety Standards.
