About The Position
We are seeking a motivated Veterinary Technician to join our animal care and veterinary team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a diverse collection of wildlife, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and aquatic species, in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Requirements
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) preferred, or equivalent experience
- Experience with exotic, zoo, or wildlife species preferred
- Strong clinical and technical skills
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, standing, outdoor conditions)
- Comfortable working around large and potentially dangerous animals (with proper protocols)
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, and medical procedures across a wide variety of species
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Monitor animal health, behavior, and recovery
- Prepare and maintain surgical and treatment areas
- Perform laboratory work (bloodwork, fecals, cytology, etc.)
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Support preventative care programs
- Assist with animal restraint and handling as needed
- Collaborate with animal care staff to ensure continuity of care
