About The Position

Florida Veterinary Referral Center (FVRC) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency team in Estero, FL. This is a full-time opportunity for a Veterinary Technician who enjoys emergency medicine, working as part of a collaborative team, and continuing to build their clinical skills. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician
  • Strong understanding of basic veterinary medicine and patient care
  • Experience with patient restraint and handling, diagnostic imaging, phlebotomy and venipuncture, anesthesia and patient monitoring, and veterinary laboratory equipment and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative veterinary team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to compassionate patient care and excellent client service
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Emergency veterinary experience preferred
  • LVT certification is prioritized

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate nursing care to emergency and hospitalized patients
  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, procedures, and patient care
  • Safely restrain and handle dogs, cats, and other veterinary patients
  • Perform and assist with diagnostic procedures, including diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing, phlebotomy and venipuncture, anesthesia and patient monitoring
  • Prepare and administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
  • Monitor patient condition and communicate changes promptly to the medical team
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records
  • Assist with upkeep of treatment areas, equipment, and supplies
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients regarding patient care
  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, assistants, and client care team members
  • Continue developing technical and clinical skills through training and professional development
