Veterinary Technician Assistant
About The Position
Marion Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join their team. This is a part-time position. The practice is a progressive, high-quality two-doctor small animal practice that also sees pocket pets, reptiles, and birds. They are AAHA accredited and focus on providing comprehensive and compassionate care. Services include preventative care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, emergency and urgent care, in-house diagnostics, digital radiology, acupuncture, boarding, and grooming. They collaborate with the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine for complex cases and refer after-hours emergencies to PETS.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year experience preferred

Nice To Haves
- Proficient in sample collection
- Obtaining medical histories

Responsibilities
- Pet restraint
- Triage incoming patients
- Collection and analysis of lab samples
- Diagnostic imaging
- Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
- Administration of medications
- Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
- Surgical preparation and assistance
- Anesthetic management
