About The Position

Marion Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant to join their team. This is a part-time position at a progressive, high-quality small animal practice that also sees pocket pets, reptiles, and birds. The hospital is AAHA accredited and focuses on providing comprehensive and compassionate care. They offer a variety of services including preventative care, surgery, dentistry, emergency care, diagnostics, radiology, acupuncture, boarding, and grooming. The role involves direct patient care, client communication, and supporting the veterinary team.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
Must be able to properly restrain pets
Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Responsibilities

Pet restraint
Triage incoming patients
Collection and analysis of lab samples
Diagnostic imaging
Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
Administration of medications
Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
Surgical preparation and assistance
Anesthetic management
