Requirements

  • Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience
  • Strong patient handling, restraint, and nursing skills
  • Experience with venipuncture, laboratory procedures, IV catheter placement, and radiography
  • Excellent communication and client service abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy clinical environment
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to teamwork
  • Compassion for patients, clients, and coworkers
  • Desire to continue learning and growing professionally

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate patient care and exceptional client service
  • Educate clients about hospital services, treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
  • Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgical procedures, dentistry, treatments, and diagnostics
  • Evaluate patients and communicate changes in condition or client concerns to the veterinary team
  • Perform technical skills including venipuncture, laboratory testing, IV catheter placement, treatments, and radiography
  • Admit, discharge, medicate, feed, walk, and monitor hospitalized patients
  • Safely handle and restrain animals of all sizes
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation
  • Keep treatment areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for patient care
  • Stay current on medications, hospital protocols, and veterinary best practices
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of care
