Veterinary Technician Assistant
About The Position
Bedford Veterinary Medical Center is seeking a caring and dependable Veterinary Technician Assistant to join their team. This role is essential to the day-to-day operations, supporting veterinarians and technicians by maintaining a clean, organized, and stocked hospital. The assistant will learn clinic flow and gradually take on more hands-on patient responsibilities. The hospital offers comprehensive animal care for dogs, cats, and pocket pets, with services including wellness care, anesthesia, dentistry, internal medicine, laser therapy, surgery, urgent care, and acupuncture. They are equipped with advanced technology like ultrasound, digital radiography, and an in-house laboratory. Their sister hospital also offers rehabilitation services. The company emphasizes a family-like atmosphere for clients and pets.
Requirements
- 2+ years of veterinary experience preferred
- Compassionate, calm, and team-oriented mindset
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Able to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinic
- Fast learner with attention to detail and a can-do attitude
- Punctual, dependable, and ready to work
- Comfortable receiving and applying constructive feedback
- A self-starter with a desire to continually grow and improve
- Experience with animal handling, lab samples, or medical support is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
- Cleaning and maintaining all hospital areas to ensure a safe, sanitary environment
- Restocking exam rooms, treatment areas, and supplies
- Learning hospital protocols and assisting with patient handling and care
- Safely restraining animals during exams or procedures (with training)
- Providing support to the veterinary team during appointments and treatments
- Interacting with clients and pets in a warm, professional manner
