About The Position

Barnesville Animal Clinic is hiring an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician. This is a full-time position (approximately 32 hours/week) with a negotiable salary based on experience. The schedule includes Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, with a rotating Sunday approximately once every 12 weeks. There are no night shifts. Barnesville Animal Clinic is a busy, three-doctor small animal practice committed to providing exceptional patient care in a positive, family-oriented workplace. Requirements

  • A minimum of three years of experience in a small animal veterinary practice
  • Confidence performing core technical skills with minimal supervision
  • Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, laboratory procedures, and surgical assistance
  • Strong communication, client service, and organizational skills
  • Experience using veterinary practice management software
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to teamwork
  • Compassion for patients, clients, and coworkers
  • A genuine passion for veterinary medicine and a desire to continue learning and growing

  • Avimark experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and dental procedures
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, and in-house diagnostics
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical and dental procedures
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed
  • Educate clients on medications, preventive care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation
  • Collaborate closely with doctors and teammates to provide exceptional patient care
