About The Position

The Veterinary Technician Assistant supports patient care and client communication in a fast-paced, team-oriented veterinary practice. The role works closely with veterinarians, cares for hospitalized and boarded patients, assists with medical procedures and surgery, and helps provide a positive experience for pets and their owners. The position is suited to a compassionate, dependable, and motivated team member who is comfortable in a hands-on clinical environment and eager to develop their skills.

Requirements

1–3 years of veterinary clinic or animal hospital experience.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Comfort working in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
Knowledge of animal restraint, patient care, and veterinary terminology.
Team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn and grow.

Nice To Haves

Experience with laboratory diagnostics and radiology.
Surgical and anesthesia experience.

Responsibilities

Provide client service in the clinic and exam rooms.
Obtain medical histories and record vital signs accurately.
Provide nursing care to hospitalized and boarded patients.
Assist veterinarians with medical procedures and treatments.
Handle dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments safely.
Draw blood samples for laboratory testing.
Run in-house diagnostics, including bloodwork, fecal testing, and urinalysis.
Prepare patients and surgical suites for procedures.
Assist with anesthesia monitoring, surgery, and patient recovery.
Take, develop, email, and upload CR radiographs.
Answer phone calls and help clients with pet-related questions.
Serve as a liaison between clients and the veterinary team.
Communicate treatment protocols, recommendations, and follow-up care instructions.
Troubleshoot client concerns and help facilitate positive outcomes.
Support additional clinic projects and responsibilities as assigned.
