Veterinary Technician Assistant
About The Position
At Home Veterinary seeks an experienced veterinary technician who is energetic, fun, friendly, organized, and attentive to detail, with experience restraining and working with animals for medical procedures. This position is a fast-paced job with tons of direct interaction with pets and owners in their homes. You will work side-by-side with a friendly and experienced veterinarian. We are a busy veterinary practice that specializes in house calls for dogs and cats. We provide high-quality and compassionate care for our patients, and professional, concierge-level service for our clients, all in the client's homes in the greater Boston and MetroWest area.
Requirements
- Experience restraining and working with animals for medical procedures.
- Previous veterinary experience is important.
- At least one year of experience as a veterinary assistant or technician.
- Strong computer skills.
- Fast and accurate typing.
Responsibilities
- Riding along with the veterinarian and assisting at all appointments.
- Holding animals for procedures (including exams, blood draws, urine collection, etc.).
- Assisting the vet with all other aspects of the visit (preparing vaccines, reviewing records, entering notes and charges in the computer, interacting with clients, etc.).
