Experienced Veterinary Technician/Assistant
About The Position
Sanford Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician to join their team. This is a full-time position (part-time considered for the right candidate) with a 4-day work week, no weekends, and hours from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The hospital is a fast-paced, team-oriented small animal practice focused on high-quality patient care and client service, fostering a positive and supportive environment that encourages collaboration, learning, and professional growth. They are looking for someone who thrives in a busy setting, enjoys teamwork, and is passionate about animal care.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of Veterinary Assistant experience required
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to providing outstanding patient care and client service
- Desire to continue learning and growing within the profession
Nice To Haves
- RVT credentials preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Safely and compassionately restrain patients
- Prepare examination rooms and support patient flow throughout the day
- Collect laboratory samples, including fecal, urine, and blood samples as appropriate
- Perform in-house laboratory testing and assist with diagnostics
- Obtain and process radiographs
- Maintain accurate patient records within EzyVet
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment
- Support exceptional patient care from admission through discharge
