About The Position

The Resident's Surgery Assistant will be responsible for assisting with appointments, holding, loading rooms, and providing support to the doctor. This role involves supporting the surgical department and nursing teams, ensuring smooth operations and excellent patient care. The assistant will help with patient admits and discharges, perform digital radiographs, communicate with clients and team members, provide patient care (laundry, husbandry, walking dogs, cleaning cages), and stock supplies. The position also requires upholding hospital cleanliness and integrity. This is a Part-Time position that involves working in the Emergency Room, specifically requiring availability on Sundays from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, with a minimum shift option from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm for those opting out of working in the ER.

Requirements

Prior experience in a veterinary or animal care setting
A foundation in basic restraint
Strong communication skills
Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols
A commitment to continuous learning

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Cornerstone or EZYvet software
Handling skill
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Sterilization techniques and Operating Room experience

Responsibilities
