Requirements

  • Prior experience in a veterinary or clinical setting required
  • Eagerness to learn surgical support, sterile technique, and instrument handling
  • Ability to follow direction and work effectively as part of a fast-paced team
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, focused demeanor under pressure
  • Comfort with physical demands including patient handling, lifting, and potential exposure to anesthetic gases and radiation (PPE provided and required)
  • Must be comfortable with physical demands of the role including patient handling, lifting, and potential exposure to anesthetic gases, radiation, and other hazardous materials; PPE provided and required

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in pursuing credentialing (CVT/LVT/RVT) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient preparation including clipping, aseptic prep, and positioning for surgical procedures
  • Support scrub and circulating technicians during soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries
  • Help monitor patients during recovery and communicate status updates to the care team
  • Assist with wound care, bandaging, and discharge preparation under technician supervision
  • Clean, inspect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment following established protocols
  • Help maintain surgical supply inventory and restock as needed
  • Assist with organizing and preparing instrument packs and surgical suite setup
  • Work closely with technicians, surgeons, and support staff to keep procedures running smoothly
  • Follow direction from credentialed technicians and surgeons at all times
  • Uphold OSHA and hospital safety standards within the surgical suite
  • Support a clean, organized, and ready surgical environment
