Seeking Experienced Full-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician or Unlicensed Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team at East Village Animal Clinic Location: East Village Animal Clinic located at 318 East 11th Street New York, NY 10003 Hospital hours: Monday – Friday, 9 am to 6 pm Schedule: Full-Time, flexible schedule options available Compensation: Unlicensed Veterinary Technician Assistants $25–$29 Licensed Veterinary Technician $27–$35 Compensation based on experience, credentials, and skillset Looking for a team that truly values balance, support, and great medicine? A Day in the Life: Assist veterinarians with patient exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures while ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow throughout the hospital Prepare patients for surgery and monitor anesthesia and vital signs during surgical and dental procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort Provide attentive nursing care for hospitalized and recovering patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and comfort care Place IV catheters, administer IV fluids, and assist with fluid therapy and treatment plans Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples for laboratory testing Operate diagnostic equipment including digital radiography, dental radiography, and in-house laboratory analyzers Support dental procedures, including patient preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and dental radiography Accurately maintain medical records, treatment logs, and patient documentation Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners regarding treatment plans, patient updates, and post-procedure care Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to provide exceptional patient care and maintain an efficient hospital environment What you'll do: Assist in surgeries and exams. Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of veterinary medical practices, procedures, and terminology
  • Proficiency in compassionately handling and restraining animals, including those exhibiting stress or fear
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in using veterinary software for patient records and medical documentation
  • Physical capability to lift, carry, and restrain animals of varying sizes

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with patient exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures
