About The Position

Veterinary Emergency & Referral Group (VERG) Brooklyn is seeking a qualified Veterinary Technician - Anesthesia to join their team. VERG Brooklyn is a leader in 24/7 advanced emergency and specialty veterinary care, dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art medicine in a diverse, team-oriented environment. The Anesthesia Technician will support all departments throughout the hospital, coordinating care with board-certified Anesthesiologists to ensure every procedure is set up for success. This role is for individuals who thrive under pressure and want to make a real impact.

Requirements

• Licensed or Credentialed Veterinary Technician
• At least 2 years as a Veterinary Technician with Anesthesia-specific experience in a specialty medicine setting
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Advanced technical skill set including familiarity with anesthetic protocols, pain management, and surgical procedures
• Comfortable with the fluidity of supporting different departments, doctors and technicians
• Enjoys educating others

Nice To Haves

• Preexisting skill set for placing triple lumens, arterial lines for IBP, and CVP's

Responsibilities

• Support cases in Critical Care, Emergency, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Surgery, Radiology, and Neurology.
• Collaborate closely with specialists and emergency clinicians to develop and implement tailored anesthetic plans that prioritize patient well-being and safety during medical and surgical procedures and diagnostic testing under sedation or general anesthesia.
• Coordinate care with board-certified Anesthesiologists.
• Educate others, including intern doctors, around anesthesia and its essential role in daily operations.
