About The Position

Are you a Veterinary Technician who excels in anesthesia, patient monitoring, and medical math? Join our team and play a vital role in supporting innovative preclinical research studies that contribute to the development of life-changing medical technologies. This position is heavily focused on anesthesia induction, intra-operative monitoring, and surgical patient care. We're seeking a technician who is confident calculating drug dosages, CRIs, anesthetic protocols, and fluid rates while providing exceptional patient care throughout the surgical process.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of veterinary technician experience
  • Strong anesthesia experience in a surgical setting
  • Demonstrated proficiency in medical math, including medication calculations, CRIs, and anesthesia-related calculations
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique and operating room procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail and clinical observation skills
  • Ability to independently administer and maintain general anesthesia

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with large animal models (swine, sheep, etc.)
  • AALAS Certification at the LAT level or higher and/or RVT (Registered Veterinary Technician)

Responsibilities

  • Administer and monitor anesthesia for surgical procedures
  • Calculate medication dosages, infusion rates, anesthetic protocols, and fluid therapy with accuracy
  • Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care
  • Monitor ECG, blood pressure, respiratory rate, temperature, and other vital parameters
  • Maintain detailed anesthesia and medical records
  • Perform laboratory diagnostics and collect biological samples
  • Assist with imaging procedures, necropsies, and tissue collection
  • Operate and troubleshoot veterinary and laboratory equipment
  • Support animal welfare through enrichment, behavioral assessments, and exceptional clinical care
  • Mentor and train junior technicians
