About The Position
Sugar Land Veterinary Specialty and Emergency (SLVS) is seeking a second full-time Surgeon to join their multi-disciplinary hospital. SLVS has been a part of the South Texas veterinary community since 2007, offering high-level referral and emergency services in a 19,000-square-foot facility. The hospital fosters a culture of shared learning with daily rounds for peer-to-peer mentoring and support. Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
- Board certification or eligibility in surgery (DACVS or equivalent).
- Experience in a multi-disciplinary specialty and emergency hospital.
- Proficiency in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.
- Experience with minimally invasive surgical techniques (laparoscopic, arthroscopic, cystoscopic).
- Ability to work in a high-volume, high-complexity case environment.
- Willingness to participate in a collaborative and supportive team culture.
- Valid veterinary licenses and DEA registration.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with interventional radiology procedures.
- Familiarity with specific equipment listed (e.g., Siemens CT, Phillips MRI, Movora drives, Medtronic LigaSures, MicroAire saw, etc.).
- Experience in a leadership or mentoring role.
Responsibilities
