About The Position
The Veterinary Research Specialist is expected to carry out research related to Center for Zoonosis Research (CZR) activity, involving the study of molecular pathogenesis of emerging zoonotic pathogens and development of effective tools for disease control and prevention. This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis.
Requirements
- PhD degree in virology, molecular biology, bioengineering, chemical engineering or a closely related field.
- At least four years of experience in molecular virology, vaccine and diagnostic assay development.
Nice To Haves
- Training in animal disease research is strongly preferred.
- A track record of publications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work cooperatively with other lab members.
Responsibilities
- Diagnostics and vaccine development using advanced modern technologies
- Manage the daily base operation of a veterinary diagnostic research development laboratory, including all safety compliance-related matters, lab supply/reagent orders, and inventory control
