About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Malvern, PA is seeking an extraordinary Veterinary Receptionist to join their team. This role is crucial to the hospital's success, as the receptionist is the first BluePearl Associate clients encounter. The successful candidate will ensure each client receives the necessary care and attention, demonstrating calmness and compassion in emotional and difficult situations. The position involves offering guidance, comfort, and support to clients and collaborating with veterinary medicine professionals in an environment that fosters growth. Responsibilities

  • Greet and make friendly eye contact every time our hospital entry door opens to offer the individual warm and professional acknowledgment.
  • Always offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact and an approachable demeanor.
  • Be a compassionate listener.
  • Speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone in a way that clients easily understand.
  • Assess immediately upon arrival each client’s rare need, as well as the pet’s general condition.
  • Determine whether an emergency arrival is a “stat” versus “standard” emergency.
  • Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member.
  • Confirm all appointments in advance ensuring clients receive accurate information about preparing their pet for the appointment.
  • Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains by ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process.
