Veterinary Receptionist
About The Position
Homestead Veterinary Hospital is seeking a compassionate, team-oriented individual with strong communication skills and a passion for client and patient care to join their team as a Veterinary Receptionist. This role involves maintaining the hospital reception area, greeting clients and patients, answering questions, triaging concerns, scheduling appointments, and processing check-ins and check-outs. The receptionist will also provide emotional support to clients during difficult times and must be comfortable with various medical outcomes. The job requires the ability to withstand unpleasant odors and noises, and may involve exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases. Opportunities for virtual and hands-on training and continuing development are available.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year veterinary experience preferred
- Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
- Highly organized
- Possess computer skills
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
- Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
- May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases
Responsibilities
- Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area
- Greet and welcome clients and patients
- Answer questions and triage client concerns
- Answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution
- Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow
- Check in and check out clients
- Process payments
- Offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to our clients
- Be comfortable with various medical outcomes
