Responsibilities

  • Greet clients warmly and professionally, making friendly eye contact.
  • Offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact, and an approachable demeanor.
  • Listen compassionately and communicate clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone.
  • Assess each client's needs and their pet's condition immediately upon arrival.
  • Determine if an emergency arrival is a “stat” versus “standard” emergency.
  • Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member.
  • Confirm all appointments in advance, ensuring clients receive accurate preparation information.
  • Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during the handling of pet remains.
