About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Malvern, PA is hiring an extraordinary Veterinary Receptionist to join their team. Ideal candidates will have prior veterinary medicine experience. Weekends are required. This role offers an opportunity to work with some of the greatest veterinary medicine professionals in a collaborative environment that inspires growth. The pay band is $18.50 - $29.00 per hour, dependent on experience and advancement through their leveling system. Competitive shift differential pay is offered for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

Requirements

Prior veterinary medicine experience

Responsibilities

Greet and make friendly eye contact every time the hospital entry door opens to offer the individual warm and professional acknowledgment.
Offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact, and an approachable demeanor.
Be a compassionate listener.
Speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone in a way that clients easily understand.
Assess immediately upon arrival each client’s rare need, as well as the pet’s general condition.
Determine whether an emergency arrival is a “stat” versus “standard” emergency.
Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member.
Confirm all appointments in advance ensuring clients receive accurate information about preparing their pet for the appointment.
Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains by ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process.
