Veterinary Receptionist
About The Position
Sumter County Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining the visual appeal of the hospital reception area, greeting and welcoming clients and patients, answering questions, triaging client concerns, handling calls and emails, scheduling appointments, and processing check-ins, check-outs, and payments. The receptionist will also provide emotional support to clients in a compassionate and discreet manner. The position requires the ability to withstand unpleasant odors and noises, and potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases. The hospital offers opportunities for growth through virtual and hands-on training and continuing development.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year veterinary experience preferred
- Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
- Highly organized
- Possess computer skills
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
Responsibilities
- Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area
- Greet and welcome clients and patients
- Answer questions and triage client concerns
- Answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution
- Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow
- Check in and check out clients
- Process payments
- Offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to our clients
- Be comfortable with various medical outcomes
