About The Position

Calusa Veterinary Center is hiring a full-time front-desk receptionist to be the first point of contact for their veterinary clients, playing a crucial role in setting the tone for their visit. The center is looking for a customer service professional who excels in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly, and is passionate about animal care. The mission is to provide patients with the highest level of care. Calusa Veterinary Center is a full-service, AAHA accredited 24-hour GP and ER small animal practice with 10 doctors and a large staff, serving clients in the Boca Raton, FL area for over 20 years. Their 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility is equipped with digital radiography, digital dental radiography, in-house labs, CO2 laser, endoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, cold laser therapy, underwater treadmill, and ultrasound. They also offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy, acupuncture, rehabilitation, and pain management, blending modern medicine with time-tested practices.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a veterinary receptionist or medical office assistant preferred
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to maintain a calm, professional, and positive demeanor

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and their pets, complete the appointment sign-in process, confirm appointment details, and escort clients to exam rooms.
• Ensure accurate service and product sales accounting, handle payments, process credit/debit cards, and schedule future appointments.
• Answer client calls for appointments, hospital inquiries, medication refills, and other requests.
• Make outbound calls for appointment reminders and follow-ups.
• Understand common vaccination protocols, basic lab tests, common diseases, veterinary terminology, and pet behavior.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization to ensure a positive client experience.
