About The Position

Companion Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to provide world-class service to companion animals. Our hospital is AAHA-accredited, Fear-Free certified, and Cat-Friendly certified, with an experienced team dedicated to individualized, respectful services and owner education. We are active in the community, partnering with rescue groups to provide physical exams to shelter animals. We offer a full range of services including preventative care, dentistry, surgery, personalized health care packages, and integrative medicine techniques like laser therapy and acupuncture. Located in Fishkill, NY, our hospital offers a suburban lifestyle with access to nature and convenient proximity to New York City, promoting a healthy work/life balance.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year veterinary experience preferred.
Saturday availability required.
Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator.
Highly organized and possess computer skills.
Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.
Ability to authorize and complete a satisfactory background check.

Responsibilities

Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area.
Greet and welcome clients and patients.
Answer questions and triage client concerns.
Answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution.
Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow.
Check in and check out clients and process payments.
Offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to our clients.
Be comfortable with various medical outcomes.
Withstand unpleasant odors and noises.
Be prepared for potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases.
