About The Position

Montrose & New Norfolk VetCentre is a progressive, well-equipped small animal practice seeking two passionate, experienced Veterinary Nurses for full-time, 12-month fixed-term contracts with a strong likelihood of ongoing employment. The clinic offers a wide range of services including general, emergency, and orthopaedic surgery, dentistry, soft tissue, oncology, behaviour, and imaging, along with Accell therapy and Water-Walker underwater treadmill rehabilitation. The practice emphasizes a supportive environment with a focus on employee wellbeing, including EAP support and a Mental Health First Aid network. Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent experience)
  • Confidence across anaesthesia, surgical nursing, patient care, and client communication
  • A genuine passion for animals and the people who love them
  • A positive, team-first attitude with strong communication and organisational skills

Responsibilities

  • Supporting vets across all aspects of nursing, including anaesthesia, surgical nursing, patient care, and client communication.
  • Delivering exceptional care to every patient and a standout experience to every client.
  • Performing general nursing tasks such as anaesthetic monitoring, patient admission and discharge, IV catheter placement, and blood collection.
  • Assisting across a varied caseload including soft tissue, orthopaedic, emergency, and rehabilitation cases.
  • Maintaining excellent hygiene across the practice, including surgical areas and equipment.
