About The Position

DoveLewis is a non-profit, AAHA-accredited and VECCS Level 1 emergency and specialty hospital seeking a Neurologist. This role offers the opportunity to expand a developing service within a brand-new, state-of-the-art specialty building opening in Fall 2024, which includes a 3 Tesla MRI and 64-slice CT. The Neurologist will work with the established Neurology team and referring veterinarians to build caseloads and collaborate with specialists on diagnostic and surgical plans for neurological patients. Responsibilities include managing a diverse caseload, consulting with other specialists, seeing appointments, and handling transfers. DoveLewis emphasizes a collaborative community dedicated to serving animals and their owners, with a focus on community outreach and support programs.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited school of veterinary medicine or certification through ECFVG
  • Ability to be licensed in the state of Oregon
  • Current ADCVIM (neurology) board-certified or board eligible
  • An understanding of and passion for a client centered practice.
  • eagerness/ability/understanding rDVM network, educating, cultivating, supporting, expand practice
  • Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered as substitution for the above.

Responsibilities

  • Performing medical management of neurology patients presented to DoveLewis
  • Performing consultations and diagnostic and surgical procedures
  • Building a network of good working relationships with our rDVM community
