About The Position
Veterinary Specialty Hospital North County is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team. Requirements
- Veterinary medicine experience
- Previous laboratory experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Effective time management and organization
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment
- Comfort working independently
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays

- RVT license application and renewal reimbursement
Responsibilities
- Preparing, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory analyzers
- Processing and running in-house diagnostics including: CBCs, Chemistry panels, Coagulation testing, Urinalysis, Blood typing and crossmatching, Cultures, Cytology and fluid analysis, Serology testing, Fecal testing
- Preparing specimens for shipment and managing send-out testing
- Entering, reporting, and releasing laboratory results
- Assisting with phone inquiries and add-on testing requests
- Preparing cultures for plating or shipping
- Maintaining laboratory equipment, supplies, and biohazard compliance
