About The Position

Frontier Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Kennel Technician to provide day-to-day care for pet resort guests and maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the Pet Resort. This role involves feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, bathing, and monitoring the well-being of dogs and cats. The kennel technician will also assist doctors and technicians with pet restraint for procedures or anesthesia induction. The position is foundational to the clinic's mission of ensuring animal comfort and client confidence through exceptional customer service, compassionate animal care, and facility sanitation.

  • Sufficient physical strength, mobility, and stamina to lift and/or move heavy pets and objects.
  • Dexterity and confidence to handle and administer medications or bathe pets who may be scared or aggressive.
  • Ability to monitor pets for signs of distress or disease.
  • Authorization and completion of a satisfactory background check.

Responsibilities

  • Feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, and bathing pet resort guests (dogs and cats).
  • Monitoring the well-being of dogs and cats.
  • Assisting doctors and technicians with pet restraint for procedures or anesthesia induction.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the Pet Resort interior and exterior.
  • Admitting and discharging pets.
  • Reassuring nervous pet owners.
  • Communicating services and health recommendations to clients.
  • Handling medications.
  • Monitoring pets for signs of distress or disease.
